CATS’ Annual Volunteer Appreciation Movie Screening

Celebrating Our Volunteers with “Love Hurts” and Community Connection

Ke Huy Quan in Love Hurts.

On February 23rd, CATS hosted its annual Volunteer Appreciation Movie Night, an evening dedicated to thanking the incredible volunteers who make our work possible. This year, we gathered at 3Below Theaters in San Jose to enjoy a special screening of Love Hurts, featuring the talented Ke Huy Quan.

From the moment volunteers arrived, the energy was warm and inviting. Attendees were greeted with complimentary popcorn, refreshments, and an opportunity to reconnect with fellow volunteers who have contributed their time and dedication throughout the year. The event was more than just a screening—it was a heartfelt celebration of community and shared passion for Asian American storytelling in film and theater.

As the lights dimmed and Love Hurts began, laughter and gasps filled the room. Ke Huy Quan’s performance captivated the audience, bringing a mix of humor, heart, and emotional depth to the story. Whether it was through moments of comedy or touching reflections on love and relationships, the film resonated deeply with our CATS family.

The night concluded with a round of applause—not only for the film but for each and every volunteer who has played a role in supporting CATS’ mission. We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers and look forward to another exciting year of theater, film, and community engagement.

Thank you to everyone who attended and made this past year so special.
